Character (Every) Day includes over 5,000 curated resources to help strengthen character -- things like empathy, kindness, humor, courage, etc. You can filter the materials by specific character strengths, age appropriateness, type of resources, and more. You can also save and share lists, such as articles to read on your commute, books to read on vacation, lesson plans for your classrooms, or films to watch with your family.
This app was born out of a film we created called The Science of Character, which explores the neuroscience behind character development and growth mindset. Using this film we created an international day where people from all over the world would screen this film, dive into free resources, and participate in a global Livecast Q&A with leaders in the field of character development. Character Day grew from 1,500 film screenings in 2014 to over 92,000 events in 125 countries in 2016.
We knew people were thirsty for this conversation and wanted to create a hub where we brought together all of these resources from our tremendous partners who are experts in character development. There were so many offerings but they were all siloed into different conversations whether that be science, education, spirituality, sociology, etc. Hence, we decided to combine all of these resources into one place that would be searchable and intuitive for everyone to use.
